Student Ministry Teams
Students have the opportunity to develop and use their skills to minister to others through our ministry teams. Teams form each fall and run through the spring. If you have any questions about ministry teams, contact Pastor Shannon.
Puppet Team
Learn to operate a puppet and share God’s love with others through puppetry. This is a great way to learn to minister to others! Kristi Chesney, Edie Landis and Pam Fulmer lead the student puppet team.
Worship Team
Use your musical talent to honor God by leading others in worship. Our worship team is open to any student who wants to use and develop their musical skills. Lary Engle leads the student worship team.
Drama Team
Use your dramatic abilities to encourage and challenge others in their faith by being part of the student drama team. The team is led by Kelcie Smith. No experience is required.
Ministry Opportunities
We believe that students are a vital part of our church! We want students to be able to use their talents to help others and we have a wide variety of opportunities for students to help others and learn to impact our world!
Each year we provide a variety of mission trips. We do a minimum of two weekend trips and at least one week long summer trip each year.
We also have many opportunities for our students to serve in our local area. Our students serve in their local schools by leading Bible clubs, helping with 5th Quarter, and participating in See You at the Pole.
Students also have the opportunity to serve in a variety of local projects. Past projects have included the Lydia Center of Water Street Rescue Mission, Susquehanna Pregnancy Services, South End Park in Lancaster, and helping out homeowners in need. Students also helped with the Good News Club at Willow Street Elementary. Students are a vital part of our Easter Egg Outreach each year as well.
Students have the opportunity to serve in our church as well. Our students serve regularly as ushers, teachers and helpers in our children’s programs, and as part of worship teams or special music. Students have the opportunity to join our student worship team, student puppet team, or student drama team.
For more information about opportunities for our students to minister contact Pastor Shannon.
Mission Trips
Urban Hope Weekend Mission Trip - Nov. 14-16, 2008
Weekend In November, we travel to Urban Hope in inner-city Philadelphia to help with their Fire Prevention Weekend. On Friday Night, we help with ROCK. ROCK is a program for youth and young adults that happens every Friday night in Urban Hope’s youth center. The purpose of ROCK is to motivate students and young adults to follow Christ and provide a safe environment for them to hang out on a Friday night. Saturday morning we meet for worship and training before hitting the streets to reach out to people in the community. Saturday afternoon we share God’s love by installing free smoke detectors or changing batteries in homes in the community that already have smoke detectors. Saturday evening we go out for authentic Philly cheese steaks! Sunday morning we participate in the morning service at Urban Hope Community Church or another local church. On Sunday afternoon we help with Kingdom Kids which is an outreach program for children ages 5-12 and their parents. The purpose of Kingdom Kids is to motivate children and their parents to give their lives to Christ and follow hard after Him. This is an incredible weekend that you don’t want to miss!
Connecticut Weekend Trip - Spring 2009
In the spring, we travel to Berlin to partner with CenterPoint Community Church to minister to the people of Berlin. We travel to Berlin on Friday and hit the ground running on Saturday morning. On previous trips we have helped promote the church by handing out flyers to the community. We helped the community by collecting food for the Berlin Food Bank. We have helped with outreach activities like kite flying. We have done manual labor like raking leaves, mulching, and picking up trash. On Sunday, we lead the morning worship service. This is a great first mission trip if you have never gone on a trip before!
Summer Mission Trip to KY – Summer 2009
For the past seven years we have been travelling to Hyden to help the Victory Mountain Grace Brethren Church reach out to their community. We travel to KY on Saturday. On Sunday, we lead the morning worship service and Sunday School classes and host an annual afternoon kickball game and cookout. Monday through Friday we do work projects at the church and in the community during the day and lead a Vacation Bible School program for toddlers through high school students each night. For more information about summer mission trips, contact Pastor Shannon.
Previous summer mission trips included New Orleans (to help clean up after Hurricane Katrina) and an outreach trip to Jamaica.
