Thanksgiving Praise
On Sunday, November 15, 2009 during the course of our worship service the members of the congregation were asked to write down what they are thankful for. Each person then took these offerings of praise and thanksgiving to the altar. It was beautiful to see so many men, women and children making their offering to a God who is worthy of our praise.
Then on Sunday, November 22, 2009 these many praises and words of Thanksgiving were brought back to the congregation as a Thanksgiving of Praise. Here is this Thanksgiving of Praise to remind you of what an awesome God we have!

Thank you, God, for the ability to attend a home church where we can worship you and build relationships. Thank you for the staff, people and programs that Grace church has put in place to minister to me and my family. Thank you for bringing us to this church family after searching for the right place to fellowship. Thank you for the pastors’ support and understanding; that they are humble, teachable and maintain integrity. Thank you that our church teaches YOUR word and I can truly honor and worship you alongside other believers.

Thank you for the different ministries that can appeal to so many people – Water Street Ministries, Restoring Eve, Student Ministries, Sunday morning and Wednesday night family ministries, music ministry, women’s ministry, men’s ministry, and so many others…

Thank you for my family; for marriage, for my husband, for my wife, for my children and for my grandchildren. Thank you for my parents and for my grandparents. My family loves me no matter what, and remains faithful in difficult times. Thank you for my brothers and sisters, and for my faithful friends. I praise you for allowing my family the gift of salvation, and that they have accepted that gift. Thank you that my family prays faithfully for me.

Thank you for joyful people. Thank you for my children’s laughter and never-ending love, and for my grandparent’s love and example of being strong. Thank you for friends who are close enough that I can be vulnerable around them. Thank you for providing safety for my family, friends and relatives. Thank you for the changing maturity of my children. Thank you for parents who will encourage me to push through school.

Blessings, Needs and Wants
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
Thank you for all of the blessings you’ve given to us. We praise you for allowing us to experience blessings in life and for a new day to be in your presence and fellowship. We have homes that provide shelter, and jobs that provide for our financial needs. We are healthy, and have food and water available to us. Thank you for medicine and health care providers who will care for us when we get sick. Thank you, God, for my life.

Thank you for Christian authors, for animals and pets, for the knowledge you’ve given us, for humor and being able to laugh, for electricity and energy. We praise you for our country, and that you are the one in charge no matter what comes our way. Thank you for toys, chairs, tools, television and video games. Thank you for Reese’s Puffs, Pop Tarts, Legos and Hershey Park. We praise you for electronic equipment, sports, clothing, and vacations. Thank you for transportation. Thank you that the YMCA is a place for good exercise for me and my children. Thank you for providing financially for my schooling.

Thank you for things that make me smile; days with no rain, days with rain, guidance and direction in life, musical skills, being able to show you to people with my art. Thank you for the seasons and how amazing each one is, for creation, for nature, and the senses of hearing, seeing, smelling, tasting and touching. Thank you for a shower and a warm bed and even my own bedroom. Thank you for a Bible that is translated into my own language, so that I can learn about you. Thank you for each breath that I breathe.

Thank you for Jesus. We praise you for dying in our place and the salvation you give us from eternity spent in separation from you. Thank you for a personal relationship with you and the daily joy that comes from it. Thank you for the gifts of grace & salvation for all who ask, and for the salvation that you have brought to me and my family. Thank you for forgiving my sins and the selflessness and willingness to sacrifice for me, a sinful being. Thank you for your never-ending love, even when I mess up big-time. Your forgiveness is great.

God’s Character & Spiritual Blessings

Thank you for being a God who is holy, merciful, peaceful, kind, compassionate, never-changing, trustworthy, vengeful, loving, steadfast and faithful. We praise you for never-ending, unconditional love. You guide my life and give it meaning; even when bad things happen, you are there. Thank you for the Holy Spirit who works through my conscience and provides me with wisdom. Thank you that we can have faith in you. We praise you for your desire to bring truth into our lives and use us as agents for you in other people’s lives. Thank you for calling me to a deeper relationship with you, and helping me to continue experiencing your love for me. You pursue me, even in my unworthiness. I love your peace, and wisdom that passes understanding in difficult situations.

Thank you for answering my prayers and giving me strength to get through each day. Thank you for wisdom and free will, for repeatedly rescuing me when no one else can, and for opening my heart to you. You never break your promises and you are always faithful. Thank you for giving me a new life in you, and giving me your unfailing love. You are so patient with me. Thank you for working in my life, even when I can’t feel you around me.

Thank you for being determined to love me as only you can do best, to make me holy, good and loving. Thank you for using both suffering and good as tools to accomplish your will. Thank you for revealing yourself to me. I am so unworthy, but you are willing to meet me and teach me about yourself and allow me to know you. Thank you for never giving up on me – you give me your love, forgiveness and grace when I turn back to you. Thank you for grace, and the chance to start again with you. Thank you for hope and a light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for giving us the Bible. It is a source of truth and hope which reveals your heart for us and your plan for the world. Thank you for giving me a joy and peace that I have never experienced before as I grow in Christ. Thank you for heaven and eternal life with you.
